Law firm with over
20 years of experience

The origins of LDS Łazewski Depo & Partners date back to the year 1995, when the concept of Intellectual Property as a business asset was just forming in Poland’s young market economy.

An interviewee describes the practice group as "super efficient, helpful, prompt and diligent" and values its "clear advice."

Chambers and Partners Europe Guide 2021

We have always believed that a clear focus on intellectual property and emphasis on the quality and depth is the way forward.

This principle helped us to become a unique offer on the Polish legal market: a highly specialized and comprehensive IP solution. A number of people have made and continue to make it happen. In particular, our pillars of success have been our partners: Sławomira Łazewska, Marek Łazewski, Michał Siciarek and Berenika Depo.

LDS Łazewski Depo & Partners welcomes two new partners

LDS Łazewski Depo & Partners is pleased to announce the promotion of Agnieszka Gałązka-Kuszczyk and dr Hanna Kinowska to partner, effective from 12.10.2021.

Agnieszka Galazka-Kuszczyk, attorney-at-law – joined LDS in 2009 after practicing at a pharma company and within the Polish health and medicines agencies. Agnieszka has gained a unique insight not only into patent and general IP issues, but also an understanding of the pharmaceutical sector and regulatory background. These skills were instrumental in our success in litigating blockbuster drugs life cycles. Agnieszka has also played a prominent role in developing the LDS patent and SPC prosecution practice, over the years making it more process-driven, delivering clients greater cost-predictability. These achievements have showcased her skill in managing large and diverse teams comprising members with both technical and legal competence, as well as managing time-extensive projects involving long-term preparation and execution of detailed strategies. As a partner, Agnieszka will spearhead LDS’s diversity and inclusion initiatives. “It gives me immense satisfaction to welcome to the partnership someone who was hired as one of the first LDS’ associates and who has, year after year, brought tremendous benefits to both the firm and our clients. Agnieszka truly embodies the values that have developed throughout the life of our organization,”said Marek Łazewski, managing partner.

Dr Hanna Kinowska first supported our development in her capacity as consultant and coach even before the establishment of LDS in 2008. In 2016, she formally took up the role of COO. With her research background and academic experience at the leading Polish business school, Hanna brings in specialist management and economic knowledge that few law firms are privy to. Her promotion further affirms the importance of business-process innovation at LDS and the priority we place on cutting-edge management standards. “We are particularly proud of our validation and renewals team and process, which represents the ultimate on the Polish market in automation, predictability of process and economies of scale,” said Marek Łazewski. Since 2020 a significant chunk of the validations and renewals process is handled by programmed AI, which manages document flow and tasks for more standard matters. Human intervention is now necessary for verification and selection of non-standardized cases. “Standardized patent attorney services, such as renewal, filings and validations, have been a key pillar for the firm since our humble beginnings in 1996. I am happy this area is left in safe hands,” said Sławomira Łazewska, announcing her retirement from her partner role.

“This is the beginning of a new phase in the development of LDS, where people who trained with us and have enjoyed sustained career success within the firm have now become co-owners of the organization,” said Michał Siciarek, LDS founding partner. “We embark on this next stage in our journey with great enthusiasm and ambition. These promotions support our values of seeking complex challenges and forging cooperative and innovative solutions for our clients. They will allow us to further grow and broaden our skills in the coming years.”

LDS is a partnership with a history dating back to 1996. It was founded as Poland’s first true IP boutique, combining partners with general law firm and patent attorney firm backgrounds. With over 50 attorneys, administrators and technical specialists, we offer unparalleled synergy between technical and legal, procedural and substantive law expertise. We unite around common values and enthusiasm for offering new kind of services in the IP sector. We offer bespoke services ranging from complex IP litigation and process-driven patent agency work through a variety of other IP-related services, such as anti-counterfeiting, copyrights protection, advertising and regulatory law.
